Stefan checking out the lyrics and adding his part to Alive
As I had mentioned to a few close friends in the last couple of months, we are currently in the songwriting phase for the new band.
And here it comes again: our notoriously long and tedious songwriting process. We have set ourselves the target of writing five songs -- so far, we only managed one.
One.
Alright, as of this moment, I am working on another one which still needs lyrics; so it's all riff and humming tunes at this moment.
So yes, we are still at that phase.

A more scaled down pedalboard without the Chorus, and volume pedal.
Donations heading our way for more funky pedals are greatly appreciated.
Having completed writing Alive (which is written by Stefan and yours truly, our first collaboration since Qrown's Faith in 1991 and hopefully many more to come), our infamous work ethics is setting in again. I don't like it. We take months and months just to complete a song. We took a month and a half on Alive alone. Without assigning blame on anyone or myself, I guess we have to take into consideration that we're much older now and have other responsibilities (our dayjobs, spouses (where applicable), financial commitments etc), so I suppose we're playing it cool and slowly working on one at a time.
During that time we had recruited the drummer.
We're still looking for one more muso to complete the band: the bass player.
Your questions at this stage would probably be, "Why are we doing this all of a sudden? Aren't you guys a bit too old to start over?"
I did give those a thought but the best answer I can give to that was, "Why not? For the love of music."
And while roping in our drummer, I welcomed him and said that this would keep him occupied through mid-life crisis. Of course I said it as a joke, but who knows? We the current three are already in our 30s.
I feel it's never too old to start over if you still have the passion for it. I mean, it's only writing songs, singing, playing guitar or drums or whatever, arranging, jamming, gigging here and there once in a while. Nothing that taxing neither life-threatening really. It's not like it's bungee-jumping, whitewater rafting, or Everest climbing.
But I am loving every single minute of making this band happen. The last band I was in was like four years ago and its been too, too long.
