The Guinness pint made of black (and creamy beige) balloons with stilt walkers
I have always remembered it to be 17 March, but I somehow forgot about it this year and let it passed by me. Not that it's much celebrated here anyway. But still, it gives Malaysians an excuse to party and have a drink of Ireland's greatest export to the world.

There are differences in the taste of the Malaysian-made Guinness from the ones I tasted all around the Ring of Kerry, Ireland (presumably from their Dublin plant).
At least the stout was cold that night.
Since Mar 17 was a weekday, the organisers moved the event over to the Friday night which was two days after to have it on a bigger scale. There were merchandise (mostly Guinness related), games, foodie stalls by some of the notable eateries in KL/PJ, prizes, fire-eaters, stilt walkers, balloons, and live stand-up comedians. The only thing that was missing at the time I was there was music. There were no good pumping music to set the mood. When J and I arrived, it was all stand-up comedies--while they were entertaining on its own and had drew a sizeable audience--which without some bit of music in the background didn't quite work for me. J and I stayed for a while until Doug Lim finished his standup, and then waited and waited but they were still setting up the stage. Oh yeah, and I did see a few people from church there as well, and a certain student called Julian. Generally, it was an event which wasn't too bad. Music would have made all the difference. Maybe it was the timing of our arrival.
